Business Fundamentals
At the moment we are in the prototyping phase crafting a vertical slice prototype to be showcased for investors and publishers. With private funding secured we hope to have a First Playable by February.
During the latter half of 2024 we aim to scale to roughly 30 developers. With this team we will focus on the Alpha-build for the next 18 months for the central region of the map.
We are a team of 22 experienced industry veterans with experience in AAA open-world games.
We estimate 2 hours of gameplay for the prototype and 20 hours for the Alpha.
Our game will be a premium product with added DLC.
Comparable titles include TES V: Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed and Elden Ring.
Byzantian will advance the Open World Action Role-Playing -genre to new heights by drawing inspiration from the works of J. R. R. Tolkien and European mythology.
We are making Souls-like combat accessible to casual audiences at scale. We are happy to discuss our unique selling points and game further with interested investors.
We are seeking investments upwards of €800,000.
Our ideal funding partner understands the genre’s market conditions, our business model and has experience in investing in the gaming industry or is familiar with the gaming landscape. You need to be able to invest three to four years of time and resources and be willing to take on some risk. We are interested in a partnership with venture capitalists and angel investors.
The team began work on the project with full force in Spring 2024. We have reached multiple milestones including an advanced combat system with high standard animations, 7 character & creature assets finalized, enemy AI functioning, attribute system, skill tree & dialogue system implemented, basic UI implemented, dozens of 3D assets created from buildings and foliage to weapons, level design proceeded to the sculpting stage, several VFX implemented and more, including Foley effects for various environmental sounds and a soundtrack composed for exploration, the town and boss battles.
